Stagefive (CEO Seo Sang-won), which had been prepared for the fourth mobile operator, announced on the 9th that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Circles MVNE International B.V. (hereinafter referred to as Circles MVNE), a global Communications Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) company, to collaborate on Full MVNO and fully managed MVNE services.
Circles MVNE is a global provider of communications platform solutions in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, enabling data, voice, video, SMS/MMS and media content delivery services through secure and highly scalable ubiquitous solutions. In particular, the Full MVNO solution is a scalable, multi-tenancy service delivery platform that enables MVNOs to customize and launch new services via the cloud or on-premises.
Stagefive was selected as the fourth mobile operator early last year and was preparing to build the core network for the first time as a domestic MVNO operator, however, the government's cancellation made it inevitable to suspend the business. Through rapid reorganization and business restructuring, Stagefive announced its first quarterly profit since its establishment in the third quarter of last year and announced that it would secure new growth engines by promoting the Full MVNO business. Since the full MVNO business is still unprecedented in Korea, the company plans to prepare a complete service through technical cooperation with proven global Full MVNO solution provider who have accumulated various references in overseas markets for over 20 years.
