Stage Five Strengthens Measures to Prevent Identity Misuse in MVNO…Conducts Joint Security Review with Ahn Lab
Stage Five (CEO Sangwon Seo) announced on the 29th that it is continuing regular security inspections in collaboration with AhnLab (CEO Seok-gyun Kang) to strengthen efforts to prevent identity theft during MVNO service activations.
As cases of identity misuse in mobile service activations via MVNOs have recently increased, companies operating such services are facing growing demands for proactive and robust countermeasures. As the operator of the MVNO brand Pindirect, Stage Five is working closely with AhnLab to reinforce regular security checks as part of its commitment to protecting customer personal data and fulfilling its social responsibility as a telecom service provider.
The inspections were conducted to identify and remediate potential vulnerabilities across Stage Five’s Pindirect activation systems and related services. In particular, the review focused on security risks that may arise during the MVNO activation process, where identity misuse can occur.
A security representative at Stage Five commented, “Identity theft during MVNO activations has emerged as a serious social issue. Stage Five will continue to strengthen collaboration with leading security firms and conduct enhanced, regular security inspections to further improve our security posture. We remain fully committed to providing safer and more reliable services for our customers.”
